On December 12, the annual General Meeting of the IEEE Czechoslovakia Section took place. This year’s gathering was hosted by the Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics (IEAP) of the Czech Technical University in Prague.
The event was preceded by a meeting of the Life Members Affinity Group with invited lecutre of IEEE Life Member prof. Jan Vobecký on the topic of Power Semiconductors (more info: Life Members meeting) and also a presentation showcasing the research and facilities of the host institute, IEAP CTU 🔬.
The main program featured the 2025 annual reports presented by the section leadership and individual chapters. Chairpersons highlighted successful events from the past year and outlined strategic plans for 2026. A special highlight of the session was the announcement of the winners of the Best Thesis Competition within the MTT/AP/ED/EMC joint chapter, presented by Michal Cifra 🏆.
The official part was followed by a social afternoon, featuring a musical performance by the String Duo 🎻. The day concluded with networking among IEEE members.
